When doing the hip flexor stretch at the end of Video 9 of the Beginner series, I noticed that my hips are not square. The hip that's over the bent knee is lower than the hip over the leg that is on the floor. Is this ok? How level should the hips be before beginning to push back?
Hi Joanne,
A little bit of height difference is ok, but I would try to drop the outer hip (hip of the floor leg) down a bit. You can think of lengthening that side of the waist. If your reformer doesn't have legs, this may be more difficult as you're closer to the floor. If this is the case, you could perhaps place your carriage knee on top of a yoga block.
I hope this helps. Please keep me posted!
Yes, my reformer is lower so I'll try what you suggest. I also noticed that I could have posted this question under the relevant video which I will endeavour to do next time. Many thanks for your response.
I'm going to be filming a modification video very soon about reformers with legs and reformers without. We'll let everyone know when that's available! :)
